Follow the 7 steps below to create a catalog number for the Gels you need.

Step 1.

Enter: Acrylamide Concentration

Select Acrylamide Concentration:  We will pour almost any single concentration or gradient concentration gel.  
           12 = 12% single concentration  (Specify any single concentration). Single concentration gels are provided as a flat top (1 cm from top of front plate) without a stacking gel.
            
420 = 4%-20% gradient (Pick any gradient you need).  Not sure what percent acrylamide gel to choose?

Step 2.

Enter: D,W,T or A.

Select the Gel Type:  (learn more about buffer systems)
  
D = Tris-Glycine Gels with SDS, (Gel buffer is: 0.375M Tris-HCl, pH 8.8, .1% SDS)
 
W = Tris-Glycine Gels without SDS (Gel buffer is: 0.375M Tris-HCl, pH 8.8)
  
 T = Tris-Tricine Gels.  Ideal for small proteins from 2.3 to 100 kD.  (Gel Buffer is: 1.0M Tris-HCl, pH 8.45, 0.1% SDS).

  A= Tris-Acetate Gels.  Best for High Molecular weight proteins up to 400 kD.

Step 3.

Enter: 10,15 or 75

Select Gel Thickness:
       
10 = 1.00 mm thick  (most common selection)
   
   15 = 1.50 mm thick    

Step 4.

Enter: EL

Select your Running Apparatus:                           
       
EL = Ettan Dalt Six and Twelve Large Vertical System, Hoefer SE900, Iso Dalt System (must request enlarged spacer for running in the Iso Dalt System-call Jule, Inc.).  Gel width is 25.5 cm wide.  Cassette dimensions: 21.7 cm tall x 27.6 cm wide.  Please remember to specify along with your catalog number whether or not you would like Bind Silane, Repel Silane, and 2 Spot Picker Reference Markers and whether to apply the Bind Silane to the short or tall glass plates. Or specify No Bind, No Repel and No Markers, for example. 

Step 5.

Enter: C1, C2,  C10, C15

Identify the Number of Sample Wells you want:
          
C1 = 1 well. The top of gel is flat and a sample well for standards is not included.  The resolving gel is poured 1cm from the top to create a flat top for prep and 2D work (see 2D gels) .  The C1 designation does not include a stacking gel.  If a stacking gel is desired, you must specify it.
          
C2 = Same as C1 except there is also a sample well (for loading a protein standard) at one end.  The price for a sample well is $5.00 per gel for gels in glass cassettes.  The C2 designation does not include a stacking gel.  If a stacking gel is desired, you must specify it. 

          C10 = 10 sample wells. A 4% stacking gel is applied. (Sample wells not available for the use in the BioRad PROTEAN Plus Dodeca because gel runs horizontally).

          C15 = 15 sample wells. A 4% stacking gel is applied. (Sample wells not available for the use in the BioRad PROTEAN Plus Dodeca because gel runs horizontally).

Step 6.

Enter: GLF or G

Select Glass Cassette for your gels:
          
GLF = Low fluorescence glass.

           G = Standard glass. 

Step 7. 

Enter: All entries from steps 1-6. This is your gel Part Number!

Copy your entries from steps 1-6 (in that order) into the field at left.
This is your part number. For special requests include a note with your order.
Ettan Dalt users must specify Options in words along with catalog number or check appropriate boxes when ordering using the on-line form.
